چکیده

The classical capacity of a quantum channel with arbitrary Markovian correlated noise is evaluated. For an irreducible and aperiodic Markov Chain, the channel is forgetful, and one retrieves the known expression [15] for the capacity. For the more general case of a channel with long-term memory, which corresponds to a Markov chain which does not converge to equilibrium, the capacity is expressed in terms of the communicating classes of the Markov chain. ∗email: [email protected]. †email:[email protected]; on leave from the Dublin Institute of Advanced Studies, School of Theoretical Physics, 10 Burlington Road, Dublin 4, Ireland

The Algebraic Measure of a Hidden Markov Quantum Memory Channel

This paper was presented in poster form at and in the proceedings of the QCMC 2008. It is a summary of a fuller paper to appear separately. The classical product state capacity of a noisy quantum channel with memory is investigated. A forgetful noise-memory channel is constructed by Markov switching between two depolarizing channels which introduces non-Markovian noise correlations between succ...

Gaussian matrix-product states for coding in bosonic communication channels

The communication capacity of Gaussian bosonic channels with memory has recently attracted much interest. Here, we investigate a method to prepare the multimode entangled input symbol states for encoding classical information into these channels. In particular, we study the usefulness of a Gaussian matrix-product state (GMPS) as an input symbol state, which can be sequentially generated althoug...

Transition of D- Level Quantum Systems Through Quantum Channels with Correlated Noise

Entanglement and entanglement-assisted are useful resources to enhance the mutual information of the Pauli channels, when the noise on consecutive uses of the channel has some partial correlations. In this Paper, we study quantum communication channels in d-dimensional systems and derive the mutual information of the quantum channels for maximally entangled states and product states coding with...

We address the classical capacity of a quantum bosonic memory channel with additive noise, subject to an input energy constraint. The memory is modeled by correlated noise emerging from a Gauss-Markov process. Under reasonable assumptions, we show that the optimal modulation results from a “quantum water-filling” solution above a certain input energy threshold, similar to the optimal modulation...

Transition behavior in the capacity of correlated - noisy channels in arbitrary dimensions

We construct a class of quantum channels in arbitrary dimensions for which entanglement enhances the mutual information. The channels have correlated noise and when the level of correlation passes a critical value we see a sharp transition in the optimal input states, states which maximize the mutual information or minimize the output entropy, from separable states to maximally entangled states...
